We are happy to share our optimized protocol for extracting high molecular weight bacterial DNA from field-collected fecal samples. This protocol has been designed to obtain fecal DNA suitable for long read metagenomic sequencing on the portable MinION instrument enabling field-sequencing of fecal samples.
